A Complimentary Initial Consultation
Completely pressure free, we meet to see if my services are right for you. This visit can take place at anytime during your pregnancy. It is beneficial to book early to secure your due date and on-call time.
Email and Telephone Support
From the day you hire me, you have unlimited email and telephone support.
Doula Visits
Minimum 2 prenatal visits to your home or my clinic lasting approximately 1 hour each.
Continuous Support During Labour and Delivery
You will most likely go through a full circle of emotions at your birth. On one hand you may feel excitement, and on the other, fear. My role as a doula is to help you cope with all the fears and anxieties you and your partner may have. A doula is not only sympathetic, but is informed as well. I can help you and your partner remain calm, relaxed and comfortable throughout your entire labour.
You will find that generally, the birth partner is not only there for emotional support, but is more involved with your labour due to the pressure of the unknown being removed as the doula reassures and comforts both of you. I also know when to stay in the background to allow privacy when you are doing well. I offer suggestions and help with comfort measures, breathing, massage, and helping you get the right information to make informed choices. Unlike hospital staff who are kept busy with other patients, I will remain with you and your birth partner constantly from begining to end.
Post-Natal Visit In your Home
Once you're home and settled in, 1-2 weeks after your birth we meet again in your home to briefly review your birthing experience and my role as your doula. At this time I will have your pictures (If desired) and birth story ready for you. I am happy to answer any questions you may have and connect you with local resources as needed.
Photographs, and/or an account of your birth
Pictures are a personnal preference! If you and your partner choose I am able to capure pictures during your labour and birth. I provide a birth story, a recap of your labour and special delivery!
24 hour on-call support!
I am on-call 24 hours a day starting at 38 weeks. I remain on-call until the birth. Be assured you can call anytime you have questions during your pregnancy!
Price
The cost of my Doula Package is $800.00 (This includes HST).
Why so Expensive you ask?
As a Registered Massage Therapist I have over 2200 hours of school including anatomy, physiology, pathology, remedal exercises, hydrotherapy, etc.
I have taken additional advanced certification courses for Pregnancy Massage and Doula Support.
I am constantly updating my knowlegde through books, articles and other health care providers.
I am a Childbirth Educator
During your pregnancy you have unlimited email and phone contact, I provide a min. of 2 in-home prenatal visits (more if needed). At 38 weeks, I am on-call 24/7 to provide support whenever you need me. I remain with you exclusively throughout your entire labour, delivery and post-partum, whether it lasts 5 or 30 hours.
After the birth I stay for 1-2 hours to help start breastfeeding.
